MONSTER HIGH X ALIEN SKULLECTOR DOLL

MONSTER HIGH X ALIEN SKULLECTOR DOLL

Bringing the MU/TH/UR ship to package.

Story Concept:
The Xenomorph Monster High doll was a hit of cosmic proportions when it launched, and I had the honor of contributing to her sleek interstellar packaging with a tribute to the original 1979 Alien movie.

I approached the packaging as an extension of the Alien universe rather than a traditional product description.

The Xenomorph is never seen in its entirety until the end of the film; the terror that makes one’s breath catch and heart rate skyrocket stems from the unknown. The alien’s unseen presence creates this horrifying dread that a nightmare lurks around every corner.

Everything that is known about the alien comes from either violent encounters or the ship’s artificial intelligence, MU/TH/UR. With this in mind, I thought it was only fitting to write copy that mirrors the chillingly clinical dialogue between the crew and MU/TH/UR, taking inspiration from actual phrases used in the film. Since the logged-in user is Ripley, the copy also celebrates the iconic heroine of the film.

Read the copy for yourself in the below snapshot, taken from the back of package… though I can’t promise it won’t send a chill down your spine.
